Amrita School of Engineering

With the guidance of our beloved Chancellor Amma, the first Amrita School of Engineering was started in 1994 in Coimbatore. In 2002, two additional Schools of Engineering were established in Amritapuri and Bangalore. All three Schools offer B Tech, M Tech and PhD programs in a large number of disciplines. Outstanding students aspiring for careers in engineering, from across the country and abroad are enrolled in the three Schools.

The faculty include numerous doctorates from leading universities around the world. The Schools have seen a phenomenon of "brain-gain" vs. the more conventional "brain-drain", where-in highly qualified people from the West have moved back to India inspired by Amma's vision for building top centers for learning in India.

Several funded research projects are currently ongoing at the R&D Centers and Departments of the Schools. These projects enjoy support from international and national partners including the European Commission, DST, TIFAC, ISRO, DRDO, Ministry of Information Technology.

The Schools are accredited with the highest rating of 'A' by NAAC, the National Accreditation and Assessment Council of India. They are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The course curriculum is credit-based, and syllabus is industry- and research-oriented.
