SCMS School of Engineering Technology

Established in 2001, SCMS School of Engineering & Technology (SSET) is a new generation engineering college set up under the self-financing scheme. SSET is conceived as a hi-tech state - of - the - art college offering graduate and postgraduate programmes in various streams of engineering and technology. The programmes offered are B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Commn., Computer Science and Automobile Engineering . SSET has the rare distinction of setting up most modern infrastructural facilities and organising an excellent team of faculty within a short span of four years at its sprawling 27-acre campus at Vidya Nagar, Karukutty, Ernakulam District, Kerala. With an intake capacity of 420 seats in six branches, SSET is the largest Engg. College under the self- financing scheme in Kerala.

Courses offered @SCMS

SSET, already recognized as a centre of excellence, offers courses in traditional engineering as well as technology-based disciplines.

B.Tech : Currently the College offers B.Tech programmes in the following six disciplines :

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering
  

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
  

• B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
  

• B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering
  

• B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering.

• B.Tech in Automobile Engineering.

All the above programmes are of four year duration (eight semesters). End term examinations are conducted by the M.G. University at the end of the first year and at the end of each semester thereafter.

M.Tech Programme in Computer Aided Structural Engineering

The M.Tech Programme in Computer Aided Structural Engineering offered by the SCMS School of Engineering & Technology (SSET) is approved by the AICTE and affiliated to the M.G. University, Kottayam.

Eligibility : B.Tech./B.E. in Civil with minimum of 55% marks are eligible to apply. Non- GATE candidates can also apply. Students having valid GATE score will have preference over others.

Curriculum :Course of study is spread over a period of two academic years under semester system. As part of the requirements of the programme candidates will be required to undergo industrial training during the third semester and also undertake a project work during the fourth semester. Separate reports will have to be submitted by the student on completion of the industrial training and also the project work at the end of the respective semesters.

M.C.A. : A three year Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme is also offered at SSET , which is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and is affiliated to M.G.University, Kottayam.
