National Institute of Technology (NIT) ,Calicut


National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut is one of the premier institutes for technical education in India. NIT Calicut was formerly known as Calicut Regional Engineering College. The institute was established in September 1961 as the ninth of regional engineering college of India. In June 2002, Calicut Regional Engineering College was accorded the status of Deemed University and was renamed as National Institute of Technology Calicut.

Academic Programs offered by NIT Calicut:

Undergraduate Programs: There are a total of 367 seats in the undergraduate programs. NIT Calicut offers undergraduate programs in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Production Engineering & Management. Admissions to undergraduate programs are made on the basis of AlEEE conducted by CBSE.

Postgraduate Programs: NIT Calicut offers M.Tech programs in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering, Traffic & Transportation Planning, Offshore Structures), Electrical Engineering (Power Systems, Instrumentation & Control Systems, Power Electronics), Electronics Engineering (Digital Systems & Communication Engineering, Electronics Design & Technology), Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Engineering. & Management, Thermal Sciences, Thermal Sciences, Energy Management, Material Science & Technology), and Computer Science and Engineering). Admissions to undergraduate programs are made on the basis of GATE.
